Please do not call your surgery regarding the Covid vaccination. Your practice will contact you if and when they can offer you a vaccination in practice. Please use the national booking system if you would like to book a vaccination.
Nexus PCN (Mount Pleasant Health Centre, South Lawn Medical Centre, Hill Barton Surgery, The Heavitree Practice and Isca Medical Practice) currently have been part of the vaccination program. Each practice is at various stages with their own eligible patients however we were delivering only booster doses and are currently only at cohort 6 (over 60s and at risk pts).
The latest news is that nationally the vaccination programme will be stepping up to deliver as many covid vaccinations (firsts, seconds and boosters) as soon as possible. Nexus is vaccinating as fast as we can within the current guidelines which include lots of routine work still (not to mention the huge backlog and urgent calls increasing, especially as we move into Winter).
Nationally, the NHS is looking to offer a booster dose to all adults (18+), a booster dose to people aged 16 and over that have a severely weakened immune system, and, a 2nd dose to all children aged 12-15 who are not already eligible. The evergreen offer of a first and second dose is still available to all (who are eligible).
Please see here for more information and the National Booking System. All adults are eligible from Monday 13 December, and you will be able to book via the National Booking System from Wednesday 15 December. You can book your booster for 3 months from the date of second vaccine, and you can access the National Booking System to book the appointment from 2 months. They are working at pace to increase the availability of appointments so that there are plenty of options for people on the National Booking System. You can also attend a walk in site, see sites close to you that are offering walk ins here.
Please note that Nexus PCN is awaiting guidance from NHSE and Devon CCG on how to proceed at a practice level and we will update this news post as we know more. We will contact patients to invite them if and when we can, please do not contact us regarding a covid vaccination. For more information around Covid and getting vaccinated please click here.
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. Although routine care is currently being postponed a lot of the time in all NHS settings, please see the below guide on getting the right care in the right place at the right time and remember you can always use eConsult.
