Nurse Roles and ‘who’s who’ at Mount Pleasant
Our purpose built nursing suite provides 100sq/m of consulting rooms and a curtained area for the nursing care of our patients. Our consultation rooms are equipped to a very high standard and we have one room specifically for minor surgical procedures. The Friends of Mount Pleasant Health Centre have provided us with specialist equipment.
Lead Nurse – Sue Wilson
Sue leads the nursing team with skill and compassion; she also works alongside the team seeing our patients
Nursing and Healthcare Administrator – Lori is based in the nursing suite and deals with all of the administration to ensure the smooth running of the nursing department
Practice Nurses – Sue, Janis, Jan, Gina, Jo, Becka, Jill, Anne and Di
These are the nurses qualified to see and treat many of our chronic disease, minor illness and injury patients. Some of these nurses are also qualified to prescribe
HCA’s – (Health Care Assistants) Julie, Alison, Rae and George
HCA’s are able to treat minor injury, take blood pressure, and undertake health checks and pre-screening as well as phlebotomy (blood tests)
Phlebotomists – are trained to take blood samples from patients, we have additional HCA’s rather than phlebotomists at present
There is a Community Nursing team visiting patients at home who are also based at Mount Pleasant, and although we work alongside this team of dedicated nurses we do not employ them. They are employed by the RD&E, working in the Community.
