Help Shape Support for Unpaid Carers – Complete the 2026 State of Caring Survey

Are you an unpaid carer? If so, your experiences matter.

Carers UK has launched its 2026 State of Caring Survey and is encouraging unpaid carers across the UK to share their experiences. The survey is open until 11:59pm on Sunday 9th August 2026.

Last year, more than 10,500 carers completed the survey, helping to build one of the most comprehensive pictures of unpaid carers’ lives in the UK. The findings have been used to influence Government reviews, shape NHS policy, campaign for improvements to carers’ support, and raise awareness through national media.

This year’s survey will help ensure that carers’ voices continue to be heard by:

  • Policymakers and Government
  • Health and social care services
  • Employers
  • Charities and carers’ organisations

The survey covers a range of topics including health, wellbeing, finances, employment and the impact of caring. It takes around 30 minutes to complete, although you can skip questions if you’re short on time. If you don’t finish the survey, any responses you have already provided will be saved for completing later.

Every response helps build the evidence needed to improve support for unpaid carers across the UK.

If you are an unpaid carer, we encourage you to take part and share your experiences before the closing date.

Survey deadline: 11:59pm on Sunday 9th August 2026

Thank you for helping to improve support for carers now and in the future.
