We would like to let our patients know that two trees located at the front of the practice will be removed on Saturday 2nd May.
The work is being carried out outside of normal opening hours to minimise any disruption to our services and to patient appointments.
Why are the trees being removed?
The trees have reached the end of their life and are no longer structurally safe. There is a risk that they could fall during high winds, which may case harm to patients or damage to the building. For safety reasons, removal is necessary.
The trees have been carefully assessed for wildlife, and no wildlife habitats were identified.
Neither of the trees are protected under a Tree Protection Order (TPO) and this has been verified with the local council.
Access during the works
There will be a temporary disruption to access while the work is taking place. We have worked closely with Mount Pleasant Community Pharmacy to ensure they can remain open and continue supporting patients throughout. The ramp next to the Pharmacy will remain open, while the ramp from the car park leading to the front of the health centre will be closed.
What happens next?
All work will be completed and cleared before the practice re-opens after the Bank Holiday weekend (Tuesday 5th May).
We are committed to maintaining a welcoming and environmentally responsible space, and we plan to replant trees or improve the area once the ground has recovered.
