From 25th November 2025, prescription requests will be managed differently. We will no longer accept prescription requests by telephone.
Certain prescriptions will now be reviewed and processed by our PCN Pharmacy Team, who are part of the practice. Your current medications will not change, but the process for requesting them will.
For clinical safety reasons:
Prescriptions can no longer be issued more than 7 days in advance (including weekends), unless there is a valid clinical justification.
The following prescription-related tasks will now be handled exclusively by the PCN Pharmacy Team and not by reception staff:
- Patients due a Medication Review
- Patients whose Medication Review is overdue
- Patients requesting prescriptions more than 7 days early
- Patients requesting medications not on their repeat list
Once the PCN Pharmacy Team has reviewed these requests, they will be sent to your nominated pharmacy.
Other prescription requests, such as standard repeat prescriptions, will continue to be processed by our reception team and sent to your nominated pharmacy.
