Today we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Mount Pleasant Health Centre!
A lot has changed since we opened our doors on 22nd May 1973. Originally home to a tennis ground, Mount Pleasant Health Centre was purpose built to accommodate the needs of the growing local population and provide vital services to patients across Exeter.
The health centre originally consisted of 6 consulting rooms and grew gradually over the succeeding years to allow for an increase in services. Today Mount Pleasant Health Centre employs nearly 100 staff and consists of 22 consulting rooms, 7 Nursing rooms, 3 waiting areas and the building is also home to our PCN Health & Wellbeing team, Pharmacy team, Physiotherapy service, Dietitian service and our community paramedic.
We would like to thank the Friends of Mount Pleasant Health Centre charity who have supported us since 1991 by fundraising for equipment which we wouldn’t otherwise have and for providing vital services to the community such as driving elderly patients to their appointments who have no access to transport.
If you would like to get involved and offer support to the Friends of Mount Pleasant Health Centre then please consider volunteering with them, or making a small charitable donation.
