BMA Strike Action – We Are Open

The British Medical Association (BMA) has confirmed that resident doctors will take part in strike action from 7am on Friday 25 July until 7am on Wednesday 30 July 2025. GP practices aren’t affected and will continue to be open as normal during the resident doctors strike. Please continue to attend your GP appointments, unless you are contacted and told otherwise. You may have seen information in the media recently about the release of NICE guidance (TA1026) Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) injections for managing Obesity and Overweight in Adults, as well as its use to treat Type 2 Diabetes. Mounjaro for Obesity: Alert! In the coming months GPs will be able to prescribe Mounjaro on the NHS to certain cohorts of patients that meet strict eligiblity criteria.
