World Immunisation Week 2025

Vaccines don’t just protect us – they protect everyone we know and love. From measles and polio to flu and COVID‑19, routine immunisations keep our families, friends and communities safe.

What is a vaccine?

Vaccines teach your immune system how to create antibodies that protect you from diseases.

It’s much safer for your immune system to learn this through vaccination than by catching the diseases and treating them.

Why should I get vaccinated?

  • Stay healthy: Avoid illnesses like measles, flu, COVID‑19 and whooping cough.
  • Protect loved ones: When you’re protected, babies, older relatives and friends with weak immune systems are safer too.
  • Fewer visits to your GP: Vaccinated people get sick less often, saving you time, worry and money.

What can I do this week?

  1. Check your vaccination status
    • Unsure which jabs you’ve had? Phone 01392 255722 and speak to our reception team or view your GP health record using the NHS app.

  2. Book any missing vaccines
Phone 01392 255722 or submit an eConsult to book an appointment for a missing vaccine: https://mountpleasanthealthcentre.webgp.com/

  3. Nudge friends & family
    • Encourage friends and family members to keep their vaccinations up to date.
