Foot Clinic
Do you have trouble caring for your feet? Mount Pleasant Health Centre provides a foot care clinic where Alison our Health Care Assistant will provide basic foot care advice and will cut and clean your nails.
These clinic are held 12.30pm - 1.30pm every Tuesday.
This is NOT a podiatry service. The clinic would not be appropriate for you if you receive regular treatment from a podiatrist, are diabetic or have circulatory problems. Please check with a GP of Nurse to see if you are eligible.
Physio Self-referral Clinics
Our Physiotherapist Kim Poole runs a self-referral clinic on Monday afternoons 2-3pm.
If you have a minor problem that you feel may benefit from advice and simple exercises from a Physio and have not yet consulted a GP or professional, please speak to reception who can advise how to book into one of these clinics.
Carers Health Checks
Mount Pleasant Health Centre is currently offering a free and confidential check-up service especially for carers.
If you care for a family member or friend and would like to book an appointment or for more information, please pop into the Surgery and speak to a member of staff.
Family Planning
All of our Doctors are fully trained in Family Planning and are happy to offer advice during their normal surgeries.
If you require emergency contraception please inform the receptionist that your appointment request with the Nurse or Doctor is urgent.
Minor Operations
All our Doctors are qualified to perform minor operations. Please see your GP before booking into one of these clinics.
Mini Clinics
We are pleased to be able to offer ‘mini clinics’. These include clinics for conditions such as Asthma and Diabetes and also preventative clinics such as ‘staying healthy abroad’ and well woman/man sessions.
Childhood and Adult Immunisations
This practice strongly supports routine immunisation. You will be sent an appointment for your children’s immunisations which will be performed by the practice nurses. Elderly and chronic disease patients will also be offered a Flu Vaccine annually.
Cervical Smears
It is important that all women between the ages of 25 and 50 years have a cervical smear every 3 years and women over 50 every 5 years. Smear appointments can be booked with one of our practice nurses.
GP Signatures
If you are dropping in a form for signing by your GP, allow at least 48 hours before collecting. Please enquire with reception if there will be a charge on collection of the forms as not all forms are available on the NHS. Your Doctor will therefore charge you at a rate recommended by the British Medical Association.
